Realms
Floors
All thirty floors: their names, level ranges, four-colour palettes and sounds.
The Middle World
14 floors · levels 1–700

The Steppe
Endless grassland, a low evening sun, a single tent silhouette on the horizon.

The World Tree
The trunk of the world tree. Bark texture, moss, light leaking through the gaps.

The Khan's Tent
Inside the khan's tent. Kilim weave, hearth light, a kopuz hanging on the wall.

The White Lake
A lake made of mirror. The tiles rest on the water with their reflections beneath them.

The Barrow
Stone barrows on the steppe and the balbal statues that guard them. Dusk.

Summer Pasture
High pasture, fields of flowers, the valley below. The brightest floor of the year.

Winter Camp
A camp under snow. Ayaz Ata's season; breath turns to steam.

Shaman's Wood
Birch trees, coloured ribbons tied to the branches, the sound of a drum.

The Caravan Road
The courtyard of a caravanserai. Bales of silk, camels, dusty afternoon light.

Nowruz Feast
The first day of spring. Fires are lit and leapt over; everything is red and green.

Hidrellez Night
Wishes tied to the wish tree, a branch of roses, moonlight on the water.

The Bards' Night
The night the bards gather. Half dark, the hearth the only source of light.

Otuken
The sacred forest-mountain, counted as the centre of the khanate. Old trees, fog, stone altars.

The Iron Gate
The Iron Gate — the pass at the edge of the known world. Beyond it, darkness: this is the mouth of the descent.
The Underworld
7 floors · levels 701–1050

Erlik's Gate
The iron gate that opens into the underworld. A hot red light leaks from behind it.

The Nine Rivers
The nine dark rivers of the underworld. The tiles are laid out like bridges.

Shahmaran's Cave
The home of the serpent queen. Scaled patterns on the walls, green phosphor light.

The Dark Lake
Black water with no visible bottom. A single pale reflection on the surface.

The Iron Tent
Erlik's tent of iron. The sound of an anvil, sparks, heavy metal surfaces.

The Ghoul Desert
A sea of sand under moonlight. Indistinct shapes moving in the distance.

The Eternal Stones
The field where the inscribed stones stand; the sign that the surface is near. Tamgas cut into stone.
The Sky
9 floors · levels 1051–1500

The Cloud Floor
Above the sea of fog. Mountain tops below, open sky above.

Tulpar's Path
The trail of the winged horse across the sky. Hoofprints glowing in the clouds.

Huma's Nest
The golden nest of the bird of fortune. Warm gold light everywhere.

Mount Qaf
The legendary mountain at the edge of the world. Nothing beyond it is visible.

Father Moon
The surface of the moon. Silver dust, long shadows, a blue world below.

Mother Sun
The door of the sun. Almost too bright; the tiles turn into silhouettes.

The Seven Stars
Seven stars — the Great Bear. The most familiar shape in the night sky, drawn in tiles.

The Golden Stake
The pole star: the golden stake that holds up the tent of the sky. Everything turns around it; it stands still.

Tengri's Floor
White light. An almost empty field; nothing but tiles and brightness.
